McKinney Police Investigating Dog Shootings

The incident took place in the area of Pearson Avenue at N. Morris Street. Police say a caller told them the dogs were being aggressive and the caller was concerned for the safety of people and animals outside.

According to MPD, “Officers located the dogs and immediately requested animal control to respond to the location.  Officers attempted to contain two large aggressive Pit Bulls while waiting on animal control. Prior to animal controls arrival officers, in an attempt to protect another dog that was being viciously attacked in its own yard, were forced to shoot the Pit Bulls. Currently MPD is investigating this shooting.”

TSB is attempting to contact eyewitnesses, whose neighbors have talked to TSB about concerns about MPD’s handling of the situation.
