McKinney Police Department to Host Regional K-9 Trials

The McKinney Police Department K-9 Unit is hosting the 2014 USPCA Region 20 Certification Trials March 30 through April 4 at the Craig Ranch Soccer Complex. The event takes place on the southern field across from La Quinta at the intersection of Alma and the Sam Rayburn Tollway. Approximately 35-40 competitors from police departments in the eastern half of Texas and Arkansas and from federal agencies will participate.

This annual event is open free of charge to the public on Thursday, April 3, and Friday, April 4. The event serves as the Police K-9 Certification as well as a competition for the Top Dog Trophy. Spectators will watch as K-9 teams demonstrate control of the dog, the agility course, locating simulated suspects and bite work on decoys.
