McKinney Police Arrest Murder Suspect

On Saturday, September 10, 2011, at approximately 10:56 PM, officers of the McKinney Police Department (MPD) responded to103 S. McDonald St. regarding an Aggravated Assault.

The ongoing investigation confirms that Jesus Saldana (Hispanic male, DOB 4/8/1960) and Esteban Jimenez (Hispanic male, DOB 12/21/1977) were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated to a physical altercation. Saldana sustained multiple stab wounds during the altercation. Saldana was flown by air ambulance to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and subsequently died because of the stab wounds.

The suspect, Esteban Jimenez, was arrested at the scene and charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon (Felony of the 2nd Degree). Upon the death of Saldana, Jimenez’s charges were upgraded to Murder (Felony of the 1st Degree). Jimenez is currently incarcerated in the Collin County Detention Center with a $75,000.00 bond.
