Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, home to the Texas Rangers, will now be named for a McKinney company. Globe Life and Accident Insurance has executive offices in Oklahoma City, but is a wholly owned subsidiary of Torchmark Corporation, located at 3700 S. Stonebridge Drive in McKinney. Globe Life secured the naming rights with a 10-year deal for an undetermined amount.
The stadium will be renamed Globe Life Park in Arlington. The 10-year deal coincides with the park’s 10 years remaining on its lease.
“Globe Life is the perfect partner — a Texas-based company that has been helping families with their insurance needs for more than 60 years,” Rangers co-owners Ray Davis and Bob Simpson said in a statement. “This agreement makes us a stronger organization, on the field and in our community. It will give us increased flexibility and help us remain competitive from both short-term and long-term perspectives.”
Globe Life has more than 3.9 million policyholders nationwide and more than $60 billion of insurance in force. The company offers life insurance, death insurance, mortgage protection and Medicare supplement packages. It was founded in 1951 and employs 650 in its offices in McKinney and Oklahoma City.
