During their regular monthly meeting held Monday, November 21, McKinney LULAC Council #608 took time out of the agenda to honor Mr. Arturo Ybarra, owner of San Miguel’s Restaurant in McKinney as their “Man of the Year!” Mr. Ybarra was chosen for this honor due to his on-going support of the local council’s activities throughout the year.
Ybarra stated” It is truly an honor to be associated with a group such as LULAC. I plan on supporting them as much as I can, as long as I can!”
Barney Flores, Vice President of the organization, awarded Mr. Ybarra with a plaque and thanked him for his on-going support.
During the agedna part of the meeting, several city-wide activities, and potential partenrships with other civic organziations, were discussed. These plans will be devleoped during the 2012 Council year. LULAC plans on hosting the largest city-wide “Cinco de Mayo” celebration in its history.
