McKinney is the second fastest growing city in America, according to numbers compiled by MSN Real Estate. We’ve slowed dramatically since the 2000s but what city hasn’t, right? The 2010 census revealed McKinney grew 141 percent from 2000 to 2010 growing to 131,117. Just since then, we’re already over 133,000.
According to MSN:
They [McKinney-ites] like that they’re within striking distance of downtown Dallas, 30 miles to the south, yet at the same time can live in a place that has elements of small-town charm. McKinney’s downtown of 19th-century brick buildings has more than 100 shops and restaurants, most of them locally owned, like the fittingly named sweet shop Mom & Popcorn.
We do live in the most perfect city, don’t we? TownSquareBuzz was founded, in part, to serve as a virtual gathering place, a place for the community to come and connect with each other while on the go. Our dear city has many neighborhoods and many have their own communication vehicles, either online or print, but there really isn’t a place where all neighbors can come together and share what’s happening beyond their own circle. Except for TSB! As our motto goes – Everyone has a story to share! Whether you’ve just arrived in McKinney or were born here, TSB is your platform to discover, engage and connect with others.
Oh, and the fastest growing city in America award goes to: Frisco.
