McKinney Gas Leak Triggers Evacuation

mckinney_fire_departmentMcKINNEY, Texas (March 20, 2015) – The McKinney Fire Department (MFD) responded to a report of a natural gas line rupture near the intersection of Andrews St. and Green St., east of Hwy. 5. First units arrived on scene at 3:37 p.m. As a precaution, residents between Green and Anthony Streets, bordered by Dungan St. on the south and Murray St. on the north were evacuated. Residents will be allowed to return to their homes when the leak is contained. Representatives of Atmos Energy will inspect gas levels in each residence as well as checking gas appliances prior to allowing re-entry to homes.

As of 5:55 p.m., MFD reports the leak is not contained.
