McKinney Fire Department Responds to Large Fire with No Nearby Fire Hydrants

On Tuesday, October 20 at 2:50 p.m., the McKinney Fire Department responded a report of a structure fire on Tarvin Road at Billy Lane.

McKinney, Princeton, Lowry Crossing, Melissa and Anna fire departments battled a one story metal roof structure fire with no fire hydrants in the immediate area. Water was quickly brought in via a shuttle.

Crews responding to the initial call reported seeing smoke as they approached and confirmed flames on the south side of the building upon arrival. Firefighters immediately assumed a defensive posture in an attempt to keep the fire from spreading.

Crews are currently on scene but the fire has been contained.
