On Monday, Sept. 16, the McKinney Ex-Student’s Association (MESA) will host it’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at Eldorado Country Club. This year’s tournament is in memory of long-time board member and community leader, Bill Dowdy with funds raised going toward the scholarships MESA awards each year to MISD seniors.
Organized in 1996, MESA is a non-profit organization with the mission to award scholarships to McKinney ISD seniors and provide fellowship among the alumni. The annual golf tournament sees this mission realized.
“Last year was our first tournament and was a huge success,” said Debbie Crump, who with husband Bill and Louise Holubar heads the tournament committee. “We raised approximately $10,000.00 and are so thankful to the sponsors who helped us achieve this goal. This year’s goal is to double that amount. This will allow us to award even more scholarship funds to help MISD students pursue higher education.”
The tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. It concludes with lunch and an award ceremony. All community members are invited to join in on the fun. For more information, or to register to play, contact Bill or Debbie Crump at 972-670-2062, or, email email@example.com.
