McKinney Education Foundation to Participate in North Texas Giving Day

mef_logoThe McKinney Education Foundation is asking the community to “Get Up and Give” to MEF on Thursday, Sept. 19, between 7 a.m. and midnight. Every donation of $25 and above will be multiplied when made to MEF through DonorBridgeTX.org, and gifts go even further when individuals submit matching gift forms to their employers.

For the past 21 years, the mission of MEF has been “to provide the highest quality of education in McKinney, Texas, and to inspire students and teachers towards excellence in education. MEF envisions a future where a passion for learning unleashes the full potential of our community.”

The goal of this fundraiser is to raise money for important MEF programs like the MEF Advisors, which assist students in finding a match for college and securing funds to help cover increasing higher education expenses.

Since its inception, MEF has provided scholarships to over 3,000 students for a total of $4,533,655. Through the MEF Advisor Program established nine years ago, MEF Advisors have helped students secure an additional $66 million in individual scholarships and grants. MEF also provides Classroom and Professional Development grants to MISD teachers.

MEF operates on donations from businesses, civic organizations, and individuals.

For more information, or to donate, please visit http://www.mmeeff.com or contact the MEF office at 469-302-6313.

North Texas Giving Day is powered by the Communities Foundation of Texas and DonorBridgeTX.org.
