John Mitchell Rutoskey, 59, and his wife, Gwenice Rutoskey, 54, face federal charges of defrauding Medicaid and Medicare through their work with nursing homes, according to local reports.
They were amed in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury Dec. 12. Charges include one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, six counts of health care fraud, one count of causing false representations in relation to federal health care programs, and two counts of money laundering.
According to The Dallas Morning News, John Rutoskey was convicted of a federal felony in 1992 that prohibited him from participating in federal health care programs. But he continued to work in the industry, first under his own name, and later under the name of his wife, Gwenice Rutoskey.
The couple was arrested Friday at their McKinney home.
