The City of McKinney will host the first Trinity Trash Bash on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Trinity Trash Bash is another opportunity for McKinney residents to clean up McKinney by collecting litter throughout city, especially along waterways. Volunteers are invited to participate in teams. Homeowners associations, church groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and individuals are encouraged to join the fun. Students also can earn community service hours.
Teams can compete for prizes. After the clean-up, participating groups will be treated to lunch at Old Settler’s Park with live music. Schools with the most participating volunteers have a chance to win a performance by the Don’t Mess with Texas Litter Force in November.
As a member of T.R.E.E.S. (Trinity River Environmental Education Society), the City of McKinney is committed to preserving and protecting the Trinity River Watershed through education, awareness and active engagement.
