The members of the McKinney City Council will now have some additional responsibilities. During Tuesday evening’s meeting, the council voted to allow the appointment of its own members to serve as liaison between the city’s boards and commissions and the council itself.
Mayor Brian Loughmiller announced the appointment of two council members to serve as liaison and report back on the individual boards and commissions’ activities to the council as a whole. Loughmiller said he hopes this will serve to improve communication between the city council and the city’s boards and commissions.
The appointments are as follows:
- McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) – Brian Loughmiller & Roger Harris
McKinney Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) – Travis Ussery & Geralyn Kever
- McKinney Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (MCVB) – Don Day & Randy Pogue
McKinney Main Street – Ray Ricchi & Travis Ussery
- McKinney Planning and Zoning – Don Day & Ray Ricchi
Collin County Airport Development Corporation – Brian Loughmiller & Roger Harris
- TAPS Public Transit – Brian Loughmiller/Travis Ussery & Randy Pogue
Regional Transportation Council – Geralyn Kever
