Northern Collin County military service men and women serving overseas can expect a better Independence Day thanks to Operation Appreciation. A class project of the Leadership McKinney Class of 2008, the program provides a little bit of hometown comfort to the service personnel. Operation Appreciation originally served only McKinney military serving overseas in harm’s way but the group is now reaching out to the communities of Anna, Blue Ridge, Celina, Farmersville, Melissa, Princeton and Prosper to let them know their community supports them and values their service to our country.
Opportunities for the public to participate in the program are still available until Monday, June 6. Operation Appreciation volunteers will be packing boxes on June 9 and will need to have all items purchased prior to that date. Gift or cash donations are welcome.
