The McKinney Police Department confirmed Tuesday that local chiropractor David Allen Russell turned himself into the Collin County Sheriff’s Department earlier in the day on a first-degree felony warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The 43-year-old Russell was reportedly released on a $50,000 bond.
The arrest warrant, according to MPD, was signed by Judge Roach on the previous day, Monday, March 19.
No more information has been released. The Dallas Morning News reported that the probable cause affidavit, which details the latest allegation, is sealed and not available for review.
Todd Shapiro, Russell’s attorney, has publicly claimed his client is innocent of the charges and will fight them. Russell’s license to practice was suspended by the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Shapiro told the Dallas Morning News that Russell recently sold his practice in McKinney.
Russell already faces one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child. He is accused of molesting two teenage patients who were being treated for pulled groin muscles. He also faces two counts of sexual assault involving separate complaints by two adults. None of the charges has been presented to a grand jury.
