McKinney Chess on the Square Offers Fun Summer Activities

If you play chess or want to learn, meet us Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. during the summer (June 8-Aug.10) at the Grotto (Villages at Fairview) North of Stacy Rd, North of jcpenney. Free casual games of chess. Chess promotes creativity, imagination, pattern recognition and strategic thinking!

McKinney Chess is holding thre weeks of fun summer camps that are sure to improve your game.  For beginners that are completely new to chess, does not know the names of pieces or how they move.  They will learn chess with fun games, begin to learn about the stragety of the game and have fun playing games.  Intermediate players that already knows the names of pieces, how they move, and may/may not know about castling.  Intermediate players will learn about opening stragety and common checkmating patterns.  Advance tactics and strategy will be only be offered during the McKinney Performing Arts Center chess camp Aug 13-17th.

Beginner/Novice & Intermediate classes.  June 11-15 & June 18-22 9am-2pm thru McKinney ISD and Aug 13th-17th 9am-12N at McKinney Performing Arts Center

We will end the summer with a 4 round tournament, held at the McKinney Performing Arts Center from 9am-2pm.  Early registration is recommended.  Register at
