September 9, 2015 — The McKinney Boyd High School Cheerleaders will be hosting a Fall Cheerleading Clinic, Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cockrill Middle School gym for children from age 3 years through 8th grade.
Clinic participants will learn cheers, jumps and a dance to be performed at a parent showoff at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 10. They will also perform during the first quarter of the McKinney Boyd High School Football game, Friday, Oct. 23 at Ron Poe Stadium. During the clinic, participants will receive a snack, a t-shirt (while supplies last) to wear during the clinic, as well as a t-shirt to wear during the football game performance on Oct. 23.
“Every year our cheerleaders look forward to mentoring these younger girls during the clinic and football game,” said Alice Ellenburg, McKinney Boyd High School head cheer coach. “This event is a community bonding and leadership experience for all the girls and a wonderful fundraiser for our cheer program.”
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, no jewelry, tennis shoes, and keep hair tied back away from the face.
