On Saturday, May 4, the City of McKinney and North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) will host a series of workshops to develop a transportation study for the S.H. 5 corridor. The study focuses on approximately six miles of S.H. 5 through McKinney as it extends from the southern city limits to the northern city limits.
When: Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: McKinney City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St.
S.H. 5 “Central Zone” (Eldorado Parkway to U.S. 380): 9 – 11 a.m.
S.H. 5 “Northern Zone” (U.S. 380 to the East Fork Trinity River): 12:30 – 2 p.m.
S.H. 5 “Southern Zone” (South of Spur 399 to Eldorado Parkway): 2:30– 4 p.m.
At these workshops, attendees will have the opportunity to share their thoughts, knowledge, concerns and feedback for the future of S.H. 5 through McKinney. The purpose of the workshops is to gain informed insight and input to create a preferred vision for the redevelopment and function of the S.H. 5 corridor.
“The goal of the study is to establish a well-rounded plan that will shape how this important corridor develops in the future. Community input is extremely valuable to help us create and shape that vision,” said Barry Shelton, Executive Director of Development Services.
