McKinney Christian Academy is proud to announce the securing of the Best Private School, Best Principal, Debi Sass and Best Teacher, Edna Pajela, awards for the second year running by the McKinney Courier Gazette.
Principal Debi Sass, receiving this award for the second year running, has been Principal of MCA’s Lower School for 10 years. Debi graduated from Kansas State University in 1976 with a BS in Education. She completed her MS in Education with an emphasis in reading shortly thereafter. She now holds administrative certification, professional development and appraisal certification, and instructional leadership training from the state of Texas. She recently completed an additional Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, and is finishing her doctoral work at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Prior to joining MCA in 2002, she taught school for twenty years before going into administration. Debi has an amazing gift with children. She’s seen every morning at MCA’s lower school front door greeting each child with a smile and a hug. Her love for the children and the Lord is infectious. MCA’s Lower School would not be the place it is today without Debi’s leadership.
Edna Pajela joined MCA in 2007 as a 5th grade Math/Science teacher after teaching ESL for many years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in AG Economics and Finance from the University of the Philippines and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Edna is dearly beloved by all her students. She has a very unique way of teaching out of the box, engaging her students to think creatively, yet strategically. She’s a gifted teacher and mentor to all those in her care. MCA is proud to have Edna as a part of the MCA staff.
