McKinney Christian Academy has selected Cary Bartoo as its head boys basketball coach. This was a difficult task because of the large number of exceptionally qualified people who applied. We want to introduce you to Cary:
Cary’s first coaching experience was with MCA in the 99’-00’ season, which at the time was only a combined Junior High program of 7th and 8th grade students. Cary continued to coach for five seasons ending with the 03’-04’ season, in that time starting MCA’s JV and V programs.
In 2007, Cary became head JH coach at Leonard ISD. Cary has been there for the past five years where he gained valuable experience under a couple of great coaches, Jimmy Lott who came from Peaster, and Jeff Smith who came from Caddo Mills. While at Leonard Cary’s teams won seven district titles and many amazing games!
Cary’s wonderful wife is Tracy and together they have six amazing children. Heather is 22 and attends SOSU, Brad is 20 and also attends SOSU, Cayne is 17 and will be a Senior at Anna this next year, Caylen is 15 and will be a sophomore at Anna, Blake is 13 and will attend MCA, and Brittany, who is 2 and a joy to all of us.
Cary feels blessed to have the opportunity to work again with the MCA students and staff. His vision for Mustang basketball is for MCA to compete at a high level, and have a very disciplined program in which to honor God with. Defense will be the focus of our game, with an emphasis on sound fundamentals. Cary’s final thoughts and prayers is for all students in Mustang basketball to learn and grow in the game he loves and most importantly have fun.
