MCA Football: Mustangs Make District Playoffs

MCA Mustangs, with a 5-5 record (3-2 in District) secured 2nd place in District for the first time in their program’s history.  Second-year head coach Rodney Doyle said “I couldn’t be prouder of our kids.  We are a young team without a lot of size, but we’re fast and we’re very physical.”

The Mustangs will meet Lubbock Christian in the TAPPS IV Bi-District Playoffs held here in McKinney at Ron Poe Stadium.  This is a return engagement for the Mustangs, who played Lubbock Christian earlier this season in Lubbock and took a loss.  Key players Connor Doyle, Trent Stinchcomb, and David Collum were unable to play in that game due to injury.  With a healthy roster the Mustangs are looking forward to the rematch.

“Getting to host our first playoff game is a big achievement and credit needs to go to our coaches and players for their outstanding effort”, says Head of School Keith Bollinger.

Playoffs:  Friday, November 11, 2011 at Ron Poe Stadium: 7:30 pm Start
