MCA 5th Grade Teacher Receives High Recognition

Edna Pajela, 5th grade teacher at McKinney Christian Academy, was named by the Texas Association of Gifted and Talented (TAGT) as the 2012 TAGT State Rising Star Teacher of the Gifted. She was selected as the state winner from a distinguished group of area award recipients, making this recognition a truly significant accomplishment. 

Edna was selected as the state winner because of her outstanding promise in actively working toward gifted certification and being engaged in advanced professional development, utilizing instructional strategies appropriate for gifted students, addressing the affective needs of gifted students, and affiliating with professional gifted organizations. TAGT annually recognizes one state winner selected from up to five area award winners. 

Edna has been a 5th grade teacher at MCA since 2007. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in AG Economics and Finance from the University of the Philippines and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ramapo College of New Jersey. McKinney Christian is extremely proud of one of their most highly regarded teachers.
