MISD School Board Trustee Mark Rude resigned Monday, leaving the Board to appoint a replacement to complete the final year of his term.
At its Tuesday night work session, the Board accepted Rude’s resignation and passed an emergency notice to allow it to appoint a new Board member to fill Rude’s District 2 seat at its next regular meeting June 28.
Trustee Wade Johnson emphasized the importance of appointing a new Board member to replace Rude quickly due to several pressing issues facing the District including redistricting, bond sales and budgeting issues.
Mark Rude and his wife, Cris, have three daughters in the McKinney Independent School District. He joined the Board in 2006, was reelected in 2009. In addition to his service on the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees, Rude has also served on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County.
