Making a Difference at the Community Food Pantry

By Stuart J. Pearlman, TSB Staff

As part of the National Day of Doing Good on Saturday, Volunteer McKinney organized Make A Difference Day in McKinney, with opportunities all over the city to complete projects helping local non-profits and their clients.

McKinney Elementary Schools did their part by collecting canned foods to be donated to the Community Food Pantry. On Saturday morning Troop 909 scounts and their families unloaded and organized the goods.

“I expected 15 people and 45 showed up,” said Steve Menchaka, volunteer coordinator for the Food pantry. “The schools are where all the food was collected and somebody went to each school to pick up all these crates.”
