Local Chefs Heating Up for a Challenge

The second annual Women’s Alliance of McKinney (WAM) Chef’s Challenge is heating up. Four local chefs will come together on Thursday, April 19 at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club for McKinney’s version of “Chopped.” The chefs will be presented with surprise ingredients and prepare dishes that will be judged. Attendees will sample different hors d’oeuvres and network with fellow foodies while watching the competition.

Who will be tempting your taste buds? Rodolpho Cardoso from Louisiana Street Grill; Jose Ortuno from M Restaurant, Holiday Inn & Suites; Luciano Salvadore from Bailey’s Prime Plus; and Jamie Samford from Stonebridge Ranch Country Club.

Discerning palates will judge the best dish. The following culinary experts have been invited to select the winner of the 2012 Challenge: Kyra Effren, Master Chef, author and food editor; Cassandra Hernandez, Chef and General Manager of Zin Zen Wine Bistro; and George N. Spraley, manager of Nutrition Services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen.

WAM promotes a community of business women who enhance business skills, support career initiatives, and build business relationships. The Chef’s Challenge is an opportunity for women and their significant others to network and have fun. WAM will also accept donations.

A special thank-you to our presenting sponsors for this event: Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen and Stonebridge Ranch Country Club. Registration: $40 for WAM members or two tickets for $60; $50 for not-yet-WAM members or two for $75. Register at Contact Nicolette Daugherty, or 972-542-0163 for details.
