The McKinney High girls basketball team will retire recently deceased Nicole Quincy’s jersey before their home game against Hebron on Friday night. Quincy, who had signed a college scholarship to play basketball at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, was killed in an automobile accident over the summer.
Roughly 1,000 people are expected to attend the 6:30 p.m. ceremony, including state Rep. Scott Sanford, who will be giving McKinney High School a certificate and a flag from the state capital in Nicole’s honor. A Resolution was read in her honor this summer during session. The official copy of that will also be given to her parents and her brother (also a former Lion) Friday night.
December 20 has been deemed `Nicole Quincy Day’ at MHS. A video will be played at 6:30 just prior to the jersey ceremony.
