PSA McKinney at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park
PSA, one of the largest youth sports organizations in North Texas, broke ground this week on a 90,000 square foot recreation facility right here in our back yard. This state-of-the-art facility will feature (8) basketball/volleyball courts, an indoor soccer/football arena and a full-service food court. This quality of life project is slated to open by the end of 2014.
The master plan for this wonderful community park will continue to flourish in the coming months as McKinney Community Development Corporation continues to focus on the future Aquatics and Fitness Center. This week McKinney City Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing our city manager to execute a professional services contract with Brinkley Sargent Architects (BSA) of Dallas, Texas for Architectural and Engineering Services related to the design and construction of the Aquatics and Fitness Center project.
The McKinney Corporate Center at Craig Ranch
The new 120,000 square-foot Class-A Office Building at the McKinney Corporate Center at Craig Ranch is taking shape and progress is well underway. The building is scheduled for completion by the end of April 2014.
Recently (2) developers presented to City Council their proposal for the anticipated Gateway Project. [View the TSB story.]
As of last week, both developers have submitted more in-depth financial and details pertaining to their proposed project. These specific proposals are currently being vetted by the City and the MEDC Board. Expect further updates on this exciting project to be discussed in greater detail in March 2014.
Recently, our City Manager discussed the project, and we continue to receive positive feedback on the project movement.
McKinney Connects – Interactive Community Meetings
On Thursday, March 6 we will embark on our first large-scale interactive community meeting hosted by City Manager, Jason Gray, City Staff and our Mayor and Council Members. We are eager to connect with our citizens throughout the entire city as we take our team on the road to engage, inspire and celebrate our community through information sharing on projects, priorities and people. Our first of many meetings will be held at McKinney High School. If you are a Mavericks fan, you just might have a chance to win some tickets to see the Mav’s vs. the Celtics at an upcoming game. We invite you to join us at 6 p.m. for a meet and greet followed by an engaging information update from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Please help us spread the word and tell your friends, family and co-workers.

Where are they now?
On January 16, heartache occurred in our great city. Five children were left without their mother and their father as their lives abruptly changed when their parents’ lives ended in murder/suicide. Often times we don’t ever hear what happened to the children.
Did you know that a very special McKinney couple, John and Tonya Williams, have welcomed these children into their lives treating them as their own. The William’s family that was once a family of (6) is now a family of (11). I thought you might be interested in hearing a bit more about the family, their children and you might feel compelled to offer support. Click for more information to support the Williams Family.
