Meet Chelsea, a 1-year old, 37-pound black and tan Shepherd mix. She was transferred to the SPCA of Texas on March 8 from another rescue in hopes of finding her forever home. With a sweet personality and a calm demeanor, Chelsea is a true doll. She recently had surgery to amputate one of her legs that was previously injured. Being a tripod isn’t slowing her down one bit. She’s recovering like a champ and is already quickly learning to get around on three legs. This happy girl loves attention. Her soft coat and velvety ears are perfect for petting. She also enjoys treats and will take them very gently from your hand. Chelsea is heartworm positive, but don’t like that scare you away. Kind and generous donors have paid for her treatments – all you need to do is provide a place for her to rest while she recovers. She has been spayed, microchipped and has received all age-appropriate vaccinations. What are you waiting for? Stop by the shelter today. Chelsea is excited to meet you! #139003
Meet Kovu! He’s named after a fictional character in the Lion King! He is a pretty 4-year-old, 12 pound grey with white tabby boy wearing a grey mask. Kovu was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas because his family was moving and could not take him with them. He will miss them very much! Kovu is energetic, friendly and very talkative! He has been neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV (he’s negative), micro-chipped and has received age-appropriate immunizations. He is affectionate and loving with those he knows, shy with strangers and played with a teenager! Kovu and dogs co-exist and he absolutely adores other cats! For fun, Kovu likes playing chase and pounce, playing with crackle toys, climbing his cat tree and chasing the red laser light when it roams around! Life is fun but he really wants someone to share it with him! Visit Kovu, pet him and you will become special friends! #139934
