The Junior League of Collin County is pleased to the announce the 2013 winners of the Excellence in Service Awards which honored nonprofit organizations and individuals who have greatly impacted the lives of those in North Texas. The winners’ respective non-profit received a financial grant from the Junior League of Collin County in their honor. The award is judged by the Junior League of Collin County’s Community Advisory Board comprised of Bill Darling, Linda Dunkel, Tanya Greene, Pam Little, Jim Rose, Carol Schauer and Joe Turano.
Volunteer of the Year:
Community Leader Individual: Rick Wells, The Samaritan Inn
Community Leader Organization: Journey of Hope
Lifetime Impact Award: Ray Kahl, Boys Scouts of America, Troop 219
Junior Volunteer-Junior High: Taylor Wilburn
Junior Volunteer-High School: Taylor Chambers
Volunteerism is at the heart of the Junior League of Collin County’s mission. Comprised of 900 women dedicated to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, the Junior League of Collin County strives to have its mission serve as inspiration to others to embrace volunteerism. The Excellence in Service Awards is an opportunity to celebrate and honor those who are making an important contribution in the Collin County community.
