McKinney invites residents and businesses to attend an informational open house to hear proposals for the redevelopment of city-owned downtown properties.
The meeting on Monday, April 8 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at McKinney City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St., will start with a special City Council meeting. Four private developers will present their redevelopment proposals to Council. After these formal presentations, developers will be available to answer questions from the public. All stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share feedback regarding the four redevelopment proposals via comment cards that will be provided.
Last year, as a proactive step to increase momentum for continued revitalization in the Town Center, McKinney issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking master development proposals from qualified private developers for the redevelopment of 10 city-owned downtown properties. One of the primary goals of this potential redevelopment effort is to build momentum for continued downtown revitalization and economic development that conforms to the adopted vision of the Town Center Study Initiative Phase 1 Report and the master plan.
