Ice skating in downtown McKinney? According to McKinney Main Street Director, Ty Lake, true story. As is the ability to climb a snow mountain. She even predicts Magic Snow will fall on the downtown square in the very near future. These are but a sampling of the fun in store for those who attend McKinney’s premiere festival, Dickens of a Christmas, Home For The Holidays.
The three day festival, now in its 31st year, launches on Friday, November 25th and runs through Sunday, November 27th. According to Main Street, guests can expect, “An old fashioned holiday family festival with horse-drawn carriages, strolling carolers and visits with Santa Claus, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and activities for all ages.”
This year’s non-stop entertainment will have a more intimate feel as it will take place in multiple street level locations and stages. Local organizations will also provide multiple children’s activities throughout the weekend.
The Dickens of a Christmas, Home for the Holidays Festival is free to the public. Free parking and free shuttle services will also be provided, so there is no excuse to miss it. Let it snow!
