“I am woman, hear me roar”
I am tired of hearing and seeing how the majority of women have a talent, skill or ability that is untapped that keeps them from reaching their dreams.
As well as living with spiritual and physical weaknesses while suffering internal and eternal discomfort.
To be honest, years ago I was on that list. Many of us are moody, insecure, pessimistic, depressed, we complain about things that don’t happen or about things we don’t have and would like to have.
I understand those moms that have a long day taking care of their kids and work. They are professionals, wives, friends, and daughters and feel tired and discouraged from doing something that they truly enjoy.
I am also a working mom that on occasions has experienced the feeling of emptiness and emotional exhaustion, not allowing myself to enjoy life, my work and the blessing of being a mother, wife, daughter, friend, etc.
Understanding a woman’s soul is difficult, but easy to see and to know that a woman’s heart is what makes the world go round.
Take a brief moment to reflect about what is happening in your life. Come to realize that without a doubt your life is full of success, of dreams in progress, of laughter, of pleasant moments, of difficult times, of changes and sadness. Surely you noticed that you have a beautiful family and that you are definitely a marvelous mom, without a doubt a driven professional, an unconditional friend, a loving wife, a blessed daughter, a tireless warrior, a triumphant and extraordinary woman.
Women count on an unexplainable internal strength, and in case you haven’t noticed that in spite all of the challenges we are the ones that survive the pain, the hard times and bitter moments.
Now that I’m a mom, I realized that a woman pays a very important role in the life of those who are by her side. As a mother, you teach your children to fly, suffer the late nights, and help them build up their faith, their sense of security and trust. As a wife, you become an unconditional lover, the right arm, the co-pilot, in a few words a wife provides the support that a man needs. A wife is the one that gives spiritual support, makes a man a believer, makes him cry, that makes him tremble by the beauty that only a woman can reflect. I’m not only talking about physical beauty, but also of internal beauty.
Even though a woman may seem weak, she can become a beast when something bothers her like a sensual jaguar hunting her prey or a fierce lion defending her cubs. We are the perfect image of “Diana the huntress” (Artemis for the Greeks, Diana for the Romans). Even though the Goddess Artemis wasn’t very much in favor of love, we can say that we instead love with our heart on our sleeve.
We are huntresses, warriors, giant women with great souls, deep thinkers, creators, searchers of love and deserving to be happy.
Although a woman suffers some labels like: widow, wife, single, bride and fiancée. We are always linked to the male figure, and to this we can say that it is because the most divine gift God has bestowed upon is the blessing to be wives and mothers.
We are the key to the world. We make art, design clothes, write love letters, be the leads in a movie, decree poetry, make men fall in love with us, capture unforgettable moments in a photograph, know the culinary arts, artists by vocation, inspirational muses and lovers of flowers.
We are dancers and sewers of life. We begin and end cycles like our period, pregnancy, delivery, nursing and menopause.
Live intensely as if it was the last time, to love, to cry, to feel, to dare. Give yourself time to bring forth the great woman that you are, and most of all laugh, laugh out loud, and really laugh because it’s the best medicine for your soul.
I want to share with you one of my favorite songs. It makes a lot of sense and it speaks to you with soul, enjoy it.
“I’m a new soul
I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit bout how to give and take
But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake.”
