1) Project Graduation 2012

McKinney’s Project Graduation is a local non-profit organization whose mission is to execute a safe, after graduation celebration for the nearly 1,500 high school seniors who attend all McKinney schools. Your donation and time will not only help this year’s graduates, but will ensure that the Project Graduation tradition continues for future seniors. Please do what you can to make Project Graduation 2012 a night of memories and safety for our seniors.

The next planning meeting will be held Monday, May 14th at 7:00 pm in conference room #1 at the MISD offices. Please join us to find out more about how you can help with this important event. For more information, click HERE or contact Deana McGonagill Director, McKinney’s Project Graduation.

2) Parent Feedback Survey
MISD is conducting a parent feedback survey during the month of May. The survey questions are intentionally broad in order to provide feedback on a variety of topics. Your experiences with the schools are invaluable pieces of information and your feedback is appreciated.

Take the survey in English or Spanish.

3) SAT Preparation Program – Registration Deadline May 18th
Juniors and seniors are invited to an SAT preparation program from June 13 – June 28, 1pm – 4pm at Boyd.  MISD teachers have been trained to give instruction critical reading, math, & writing, test taking strategies, and best practices for the SAT essay-writing portion.

This opportunity is limited to 75 students and will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.  The program fee is $125 and each student receives a personal copy of The Official SAT Study Guide. To reserve your spot for this program, contact your school counselor or complete an enrollment form.

4) Summer School Programs
Registration for 2012 Summer School is now open.  Students are required to meet with their current campus counselor to ensure enrollment in the correct class.  Read More.

5) MISD Phone Numbers Are Changing
On June 4, 2012 all MISD phone numbers will be changing. As the district has grown over the years it has exhausted numbers in the 469-742-XXXX range.  With the exception of McKinney Boyd High School, the area code and the last four digits of the phone numbers throughout the district will not change, only the 742.  The new numbers will begin with 469-302-XXXX (existing last 4 digits). This change will enable MISD to have consistent phone numbers, and will afford the opportunity to add new extensions for years to come.
