McKinney Independent School District (MISD)

1) MISD Earns State’s Highest Financial Rating for 10th Straight Year
McKinney Independent School District officials announced that the district received a rating of “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ Schools FIRST financial accountability rating system. Read More.

2) MISD Superintendent Named to American Diabetes Leadership Board
The American Diabetes Association announced that Dr. J.D. Kennedy, McKinney ISD Superintendent, was named a member of the Community Leadership Board (CLB) for the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the American Diabetes Association for a two-year term. Read More.

It is rare, but sometimes these non-district games can actually have legitimate playoff atmospheres. In front of a mostly poncho-wearing crowd at Ron Poe Stadium on Friday night, with rain and wind making conditions less than desirable. Read More.

6) TSB’s Volleyball Game of the Week: MHS Rally Falls Short In Loss To Plano East
McKinney High kicked off its second District 10-5A match of the season against the Plano East Lady Panthers on Middle School Night, which saw numerous youngsters spending their night cheering their hardest for a Lionettes victory. Read More.

7) North Girls Golf Teams Take Part in Opening Tournaments
The McKinney North girls golf varsity and JV teams participated in their first tournaments this past week. Read More.

8) North Tennis Team Shuts Out Greenville
The McKinney North tennis team completely dominated 13-4A foe Greenville HS by a score of 19-0 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs overmatched the inexperienced Lions from the start of the match. Read More.

9) No. 2-ranked Plano West Tops North in Tennis Battle
The McKinney North tennis team battled Plano West, but came up just short losing 12-7 on Friday. Read More.

10) McKinney Boyd Athletics to Host New Community Project
One Game, One Cause … Kick Cancer! I have watched over the last couple of years at McKinney Boyd and around the area, of different teams doing different things to raise money and fight cancer in the month of October. Read More.

11) Boyd High School Honors Band Selected a National Winner in Mark of Excellence
Congratulations to the 2012 McKinney Boyd High School Honors Band who has been selected as a National Winner in the Mark of Excellence/National Wind Band Honors project. Read More.
