Health IT Certificate Series Available at Collin College

Health IT workers who wish to be a part of the migration toward completely electronic health systems can now earn a nationally recognized certification called the Certified Health Informatics Systems Professional (CHISP).

The CHISP certification, created by the American Society of Health Informatics Managers (www.ashim.org), shows employers that you have the skills in both IT and healthcare to assist in the project planning, programming, implementation and/or training of workers to deploy the electronic health systems.

Collin College has developed and is offering the Health IT Certificate series of courses through the Continuing Education division to prepare individuals for this certification exam. This customized training is designed for the healthcare and IT professionals who are interested in gaining knowledge to become certified and work in the field of Electronic Health Records.

Interested students will meet with the program director to review previous experience and determine specific course needs.

For more information on healthcare certifications, call 972.599.3117 or email Jyo Pai at jpai@collin.edu.
