How about traveling south for the winter? Sunny Honduras could be just the place to relax in February, and make a difference in the lives of children and a family!
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity is taking a team of 14 volunteers to Puerto Lempira, Honduras, to construct two classrooms in an orphanage and also a single-family home. The group will leave January 31 and return February 9. While in Puerto Lempira, the group will live in the orphanage and spend time with the children.
They will stop for a day at the Resort in Tela Bay, Honduras before returning to Dallas.
Habitat sent a team to the same location last winter, where they constructed a home for a disabled mother and her young son. The group were asked to return to assist with the expansion of the orphanage and also to build another home.
There are three vacancies left for the January trip, which is open to anyone in the community. The price is $1,928, inclusive of all air fare, meals, in-county travel, local excursions, food, medical insurance, translation, lodging and the resort. It also includes a portion of the materials for the home construction.
