The MISD girls basketball teams are all over the area this weekend as Boyd, MHS, and North play their final non-district tournaments of the season. The North Lady Bulldogs advanced to the Sherman Holiday Classic final after defeating Plano, while McKinney went 2-0 in the Prosper Holiday Classic and the Boyd Lady Broncos went 1-2 on Thursday and Friday at the Mansfield Rotary Invitational.

The Lady Broncos dropped its only game on Thursday to Amarillo, losing 64-47 at the Mansfield Rotary Invitational. Julia Hendrieth was the Boyd leading scorer with 15 points.
On Friday, Boyd finished 1-1 on the day after defeating South Grand Prairie 49-38 and losing to John Paul II 30-26.
Against South Grand Prairie, the Lady Broncos scored at least 10 points in all four quarters to win its tenth game of the season. Hendrieth led the team with 15 points.
In the loss to John Paul II, the two teams combined for just seven fourth quarter points, including only two points from the Lady Broncos. Hendrieth led Boyd in scoring with seven points.
Boyd now sits at 10-12 on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate the Sherman Holiday Classic, defeating Plano 67-62 in the semifinal on Friday night. North will face the eighth-ranked 3A Celina on Saturday night for the championship. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 17-3 on the season.
Senior Alexis Mason set the school record for most points in a game with 33, including hitting all nine of her free throw attempts in the game. Chanterria Jackson finished with 12 points, while KK Connor added 10 points of her own.
The championship game tips off at 5:30 p.m. at Sherman.
The Lionettes won two games on Friday at the Prosper Holiday Classic, knocking off Frisco Lone Star 42-36 in overtime and Krum 45-43. MHS improved to 13-9 on the season.
Mariah Mitchell led all scorers for the Lionettes with 23 points in the win versus Lone Star. There were no stats turned in for the Krum game.
MHS will face Frisco Heritage in the semi-final at 12:30 p.m. at Prosper H.S.
