Get Ready For TSB’s 2013 Top Stories Countdown

Let’s face it, there’s never a dull moment in McKinney. Whether it be city elections, a football player game or a concert at MPAC, we have plenty here at to keep us on the move.

Not only do we attempt to provide you with the most comprehensive, immediate and entertaining coverage of your city, but it’s fun to take pause at the end of each year to select our top-10 stories from the previous 12 months in both News and Sports and our top-5 in Lifestyle.

So, starting today, with our honorable mentions, you’ll get to look back on 2013 in all its glory — celebrations, warts and all. Please know that our selected stories aren’t based on whether they are feel-good situations or not. Simply on public interest and importance. That’s why you’ll see a major crime story on the list, along with a huge business story. They’re all fair game.

So we hope you read along and decide these stories’ importance and relevance to your own life,  as we publish one per day, in both News and Sports, counting down from No. 10 to No. 1 on New Year’s Eve. You’ll also see a top-5 Lifestyle stories countdown beginning in a few days.

Happy Holidays and Happy Reading … all while looking forward to a prosperous and happy 2014.

Our top-10 countdown begins tomorrow with No. 10, but a quick look at these “honorable mention” stories gives you a good idea of the “heavy competition” between important local news and sports stories this past year, since these didn’t make our top-1o. But they’re worth reviewing, nonetheless, so remember to click the links for the full versions:
