Frisco ISD to Host Public Forum on Student Growth

frisco_isdFrisco ISD invites parents and community members to a public forum on student growth in the District on Monday, Oct. 7.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Heritage High School Auditorium, 14040 El Dorado Parkway in Frisco.

Frisco ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeremy Lyon and Deputy Superintendent for Business Services Richard Wilkinson will give an update on student growth and projections and then open the forum for questions.

A Bond Committee has recently been established to look at facility needs to meet continuing student growth in Frisco ISD. There are currently 45,998 students enrolled in FISD schools and the District is projected to enroll 52,673 students in 2015.

FISD is opening five new schools next year – four elementary schools and one high school.

One of those elementary schools, Janice Stahly Scott Elementary, will be built in the Reserve at Westridge subdivision at the northeast corner of Millbend and Eden Drive in McKinney. It will relieve Mooneyham, Sonntag and Ashley elementary schools.
