Frisco ISD Back-to-School Immunization Clinic Set for Aug. 6

TSB Community Contributor

Frisco ISD will partner with Passport Health/North Texas Flu Shots to help families stay up to date on required vaccines in advance of the 2013-2014 school year.

A children’s vaccination clinic will be held on Tuesday, August 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Student Opportunity Center, 6928 Maple Street in Frisco.

State law requires children to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases to attend school in Texas.

The requirements are most likely to affect your child if he or she is entering kindergarten or seventh grade, though students entering other grade levels may be impacted as well.

Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO*, United HealthCare PPO, Aetna PPO, CHIP and Medicaid will be accepted. *Select plans do not cover immunizations.

Families must bring a photo copy of their insurance card and the driver’s license of the primary insured individual.

A parent or guardian must also accompany each student. Please bring your child’s vaccine record with you.

Shots are $10 each for children under 18 who do not have insurance. Payments in cash and check will be accepted.

The following vaccines will be available:

Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (TDaP or DTaP)
Polio
Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
Meningococcal
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Varicella (Chickenpox)
Gardasil
