Communication is key when attempting to get into college or convince someone that you deserve a scholarship.
Writing that great scholarship or entrance essay is the topic of a free workshop titled “The ‘Writes’ of Passage: How to Write a Personal Statement, College or Scholarship Essay.”
Hosted by Destination College, the workshop is set from 6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Living Legends Conference Center at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
The workshop is free and open to any potential college student no matter where he or she plans to attend.
“Writes of Passage” will cover helpful tips and strategies of writing an effective application or scholarship essay from the president of College Admission Consultants, Inc., Marilyn Kaufman, M.Ed. Learn what to say and how to say it and learn the most significant factors in writing an essay.
Destination College is a Collin College initiative that helps high school students and their parents to get ready for college, no matter which institution they choose. This event is the first of a series of workshops scheduled to help high school students prepare for college.
While there is no fee to attend, registration is required.
