A disappointing football season for McKinney High ended Friday night with a 52-15 loss to Highland Park on the road.
The Lions finished 0-10 overall and 0-7 in District 10-4A.
The Scots were opposite, finishing their regular season 10-0 overall and 7-0 and district champions in 10-4A.
MHS hung tough early, as Robert Somborn hit Quentin Casner from 9 yards out to cut the HP lead to 14-7 in the first quarter. But HP scored again in the first quarter to make it 21-7 and were on their way.
Somborn hooked up with Casner again in the third quarter on a 22-yard TD pass. A 2-point conversion run by Robert Tankersley cut the Scots’ lead to 38-15, but MHS did not manage to score again.
