Ex-North Receiver Douglas Shines at University of Arizona’s Pro Day

David Douglas wide receiver reportedly “caught everything thrown his way” at the University of Arizona’s Pro Day, said Tony Pauline of, which is Sports Illustrated’s online site.

Pauline wrote Monday that most of the anticipation by the NFL scouts and coaches in attendance was placed on Wildcats receiver Juron Criner, who was the team’s No. 1 receiver, however Douglas stole the show. Pro Days are like schools’ mini versions of the NFL combine, where prospective draftees work out for teams in order to boost their draft chances.

“David Douglas, who was the Wildcats second leading receiver after Criner, was the faster and more consistent wide out on the field today,” Pauline wrote. “Douglas ran times that will officially be charted as 4.45 seconds (in the 40-yard dash) then looked effortless in horrible conditions during the position drills. He caught everything thrown his way and. according to onlookers, toughed it out when others had succumbed to the driving rain and hail.”

The NFL Draft is April 26-27 and will be televised by ESPN and the NFL Network.
