The Collin County Historical Society and Museum proudly presents author and historian Stephen Baird Peter, as he introduces us to his new book, The Saga of Marshal Todd Warden, on Saturday, June 2nd at 2 p.m. There will be a book signing immediately following the presentation.
Collin County Sheriff Terry G. Box states, “Peter has done justice to a long-forgotten and underappreciated citizen of Collin County, a man who with others kept the peace and prosperity of our county, and its county seat, during an exceedingly rough period of its development. This book provides the reader with the opportunity to walk beside an old-time City Marshal as he served the public by arresting thieves, gamblers, thugs and sometimes murder suspects.”
Sheriff Box quoted Collin County historian Roy Hall has stated that Warden was, “one of the best City Marshals McKinney ever had; cool, calculating and efficient….”
According to Sheriff Box it is only through the reading of The Saga of Marshal Todd Warden that a modern-day citizen of Collin County gains an appreciation of the daily life of one of the early leaders of the peaceful community we enjoy today. “I highly recommend it,” he says.
The presentation and book signing will be held at the CCHS Museum, 300 E. Virginia St., McKinney, Texas. Admission is free with the purchase of Peter’s book for $19.95 or $5 at the door. Of course, all new or renewed 2012 members get in free. For more information, contact us at email@example.com.
