Allen’s Ereckson Middle School Theatre & Choir will perform The Little Mermaid Jr. on Dec. 4, 5 and 6. Public performances will be held at 7 p.m. in the Ereckson Middle School Cafetorium. Tickets are $8 per person and are available by emailing Diane Balogh or at the door.
The production, which includes students in seventh and eight grades, tells the story of Ariel, a mermaid who wonders about the human world and longs to experience it for herself. More then 70 students are part of the cast and crew, which are led by Diane Balogh, Theatre Director and Mike Buntyn, Choir Director. The production will also be performed for students in sixth, seventh and eight grades during in-school performances Dec. 4-6.
In addition, the cast will be offering a Cookies With Ariel event on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in the Ereckson Middle School Cafetorium as a service project. Admission to the event is two cans of food, which will be donated to Allen Community Outreach.
“We are excited to share the student’s hard work with our school and our community,” said Diane Balogh, Theatre Director. “The kids have worked so hard on the production and are eager to share it as well as to collect needed food donations for ACO ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.”
Members of the cast will also be performing excerpts from the show at the Candy Canes For Kids event at The Village at Allen & The Village at Fairview at 5 p.m. on Nov. 16. The Candy Canes For Kids event benefits Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County.
