The weekend on tap is going to be a fun one folks. What’s not to love about magic, barbeque, beer? Not to mention a spectacular talent show featuring some of the areas up and coming singers brought to you by none other than TownSquareBuzz.com and the McKinney Performing Arts Center with sponsorship from Nissan McKinney. Andy Gross (Friday)
Las Vegas entertainer Andy Gross will boggle the mind with his ventriloquism, comedy and magic variety show. Having headlined at comedy clubs nationwide, his performances showcase his unparalleled voice-throwing ability and spellbinding feats of illusion in a family-friendly show. Performing at the McKinney Performing Arts Center on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22 adults/$12 kids under 18; available here.
Kiwanis Annual BBQ Dinner (Friday)
The McKinney Kiwanis Club holds its Annual BBQ Dinner & Silent Auction Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1800 W. Hunt Street (behind Brookshires). Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for kids under 12,and are available at the door. (The Kiwanis Club is a service organization with members who build handicap ramps, deliver meals to those in need and work with the Halos Kids League and the McKinney ISD, among other projects.)
Brewery Tour (Saturday)
Every Saturday at 11 am., McKinney’s own Franconia Brewing Company opens its doors to guests for tours and beer tastings. Bavarian brewmeister Dennis Wehrmann shares his knowledge and plenty of laughs. Tour fee of $5 gets you not only the tour, but a bottomless cup of beer (or bring your own stein from home). 495 McKinney Pkwy., 972-542-0705.
McKinney Mash-Up Finals (Saturday)
The top 20 solo performers and 20 group performers selected by Internet vote in October will compete live in MPAC’s Courtroom Theater early in the day Saturday. The audience will then select the top 10 solo performers and top 10 group performers to advance to the finals at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Mash-Up is presented by TownSquareBuzz.com and the McKinney Performing Arts Center with sponsorship from Nissan of McKinney . The winners will be the opening acts for Steel Magnolia on Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. at MPAC
