Tis the season to get shopping. Too soon?  Not really when you realize all the great shopping to be had this weekend in McKinney.  Just be sure to hold onto enough green to treat yourself to all the other fun stuff McKinney has in store for you.  To see what we’re talking about, read on to check out what’s happening around town courtesy of our friends at the McKinney Convention And Visitors Bureau.

Third Monday Trade Days (All Weekend)

Discover the many unique gifts available at Trade Days, Nov. 16-18. Over 450 vendors offer trendy apparel, custom jewelry, toys, modern home décor, custom children’s items, games, collectibles-something for everyone on your list. Enjoy a fun train ride, a pony ride, and a variety of carnival-type foods. If you haven’t been to Third Monday, you just haven’t been shopping! 4550 W University Dr., 972-562-5466

Melodrama Double Feature (All Weekend)

McKinney’s Young Actors Guild presents two melodramas by Millard Crosby – “She Was Only a Farmer’s Daughter” and “Who Murdered Who?” – at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. Shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with matinee performances at 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available online, by calling 214-544-4630 or at the MPAC box office. Tickets are $11, adult; $6.50, seniors & students; $5.50, YAG members.

Old Red Lumberyard (Friday-Saturday)

A collection of vendors offers unique vintage items and treasures just east of the Historic Flour Mill. The group meets the 3rd weekend of every month to offer you their wonderful finds. 600 E. Louisiana, 972-838-7934. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Check their Facebook page for pictures of their offerings this month.
