Empty Bowls Event a First in McKinney

By Angie Bado, TSB Staff

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall at the corner of College and Lamar, was the stage for McKinney’s Empty Bowls Project on Thursday, Feb. 9.

For $20, guests received an empty bowl along with their dinner of soup and bread. The empty bowl is a reminder of the empty bowls around the world – hunger is the plight of far too many in McKinney and throughout the world.

Over recent weeks, local artists and students hand crafted the bowls, which guests took home.

The funds raised will help St. Peter’s, in conjunction with McKinney’s Community Lifeline Center, feed local families at Easter.
