Dowell 8th Grade Volleyball Teams Sweep Johnson

The Dowell Lionettes Eighth grade volleyball teams swept the house Thursday night at home against the crosstown rival Johnson Tigers.

The Blue “B” team kept it steady back and forth ending with a win in two, 25-17 and 27-25. Outstanding
players for these three games were Julia Hoyle with overall play for offensive, Danielle Boggs with a
comeback for defensive player and Mikayla Kuehne and Celia Hilsabeck for the all around players of the
game with consistent sets and leadership.

The Gold “A” team pushed through adversity to win in three, 25-17, 21-25, and 25-20. Overall defensive
player was Gretchen Omholt for overall play, outstanding offensive player was Parker Pinnell for serves
and hits, and Mariah Kelty was the overall player of the game for consistent play tonight.

Closing out the evening, the White “C” team finished in high fashion in two games, 25-19 and 25-18.
Outstanding all-around players for these matches were Tiara Anzilotti for offensive player, Paige Nicklas
for defensive player and Jadyn Hardaway for overall player of the games.

Next set is against the Faubion Lionettes on Oct. 18th at Faubion, starting at 5 p.m.
