Dominant 2nd Half Sends Dawgs to 2nd Win of Season on Road at Denton

The McKinney North football team held homestanding Denton scoreless in the second half Friday night at Bronco Field, storming from behind to win 41-20.

The Bulldogs take a 2-1 record into the start of District 10-4A competition next week, while Denton falls to 1-2.

Denton led 20-13 at halftime, but the final 24 minutes were all Dawgs. Quarterback Hunter Walling ran for scores of 9 and 30 yards to put North ahead 27-20. Trey Smith and Eric Mills had short TD runs in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Walling finished with 148 passing yards, including a 20-yard TD pass to Sam Lucania in the first quarter for the game’s first score. Smith ran for 124 yards to lead the Bulldogs.

North plays at Wylie East next Friday night.
